Second Writes

Second Writes reads year-round. Payment is $150 upon acceptance, plus two copies of the magazine in which your work appears. We pay $150 for cover art. We only consider previously published works, in the written form, where the First Rights have expired and reverted back to the writer. Manuscripts must be in the form of tear sheets, copies of tear sheets, or the actual journal in which the work first appeared. Electronic submissions are acceptable, i.e., a scanned image of the work, plus the table of contents and the copywrite page.
Specifics
DRAMA	Please submit a copy of the program along with the manuscript.
POETRY	Please submit no less than 5 poems, no more than 10.
PROSE	We consider all genres and translations, as long as the original work was published and the translator is fully endorsed by the author.
COVER ART	Please indicate where the piece was first shown or published. In the case of published art, we prefer that it not be something that appeared on the cover of another magazine.
WHAT TO INCLUDE	Cover sheet with: your name, title of work, where it first appeared, genre, and your email and/or phone number. SASE, (if there is no postage on the envelope we will recycle your submission). Please, no bios.
